A call to action by TIMETURK

The former Muslim Brotherhood general guide Mohammed Mahdi Akef has died at the age of 89 years. The oppressive regime of el-Sisi, which had ignored the calls from the Muslim Brotherhood and the family of Akef about the deterioration, is the main responsible for his death.

Following the coupd'état, which took place on 3 July 2013, about 50.000 Egyptians have been jailed for political reasons. In Egypt, where human rights have been constantly violated, prisoners have been tortured and enforced disappearances by the security forces have become commonplace. Many prisoners, notably the country's first elected president Dr. Mohammed Mursi, faceserious health problems... Unless el-Sisi's administration renounces itspolicy of torture, tens of thousands of people will suffer the samefate. TIMETURK, calls the whole of humanity, lawyers, governments and world publicopinion for action against the humanrights violations in Egypt.
