US stocks open mixed
Nasdaq adds 130 points, or 0.83%

US stocks opened mixed Wednesday.
The Dow was down 42 points, or 0.11%, to 38,461 at 9.46 a.m. EDT.
The S&P 500, on the other hand, rose 16 points, or 0.32%, to 5,086. The Nasdaq, meanwhile, increased 130 points, or 0.83%, to 16,827.
The VIX volatility index, also known as the fear index, rose 0.06% to 15.70. The 10-year US Treasury yield added 1% to 4.647%.
The dollar index increased 0.1% to 105.78, while the euro shed 0.1% to $1.0690 against the greenback.
Precious metals have continued to show losses, with gold trimming 0.13% to $2,319 per ounce and silver falling 0.46% to $27.18.
Oil prices were down. Global benchmark Brent crude fell 0.44% to $88.02 per barrel and US benchmark West Texas Intermediate crude off 0.6% to $82.86.
