ANKARA

Turkiye has ratified agreements with three countries in customs, animal health and education, according to the country's Official Gazette.

Agreements with Georgia, Azerbaijan and the Gambia were published in the gazette on Friday.

These include a deal between Turkiye and Georgia on a simplified customs line, signed in Georgia's Batumi city on July 7 last year.

Under the deal, the two countries agreed to establish a simplified customs line to facilitate bilateral trade.

Turkiye and Georgia will enhance cooperation to protect economic and social interests in accordance with an agreement on cooperation and mutual assistance in customs affairs signed in Ankara on Jan. 13, 1994.

A memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of animal health, signed by the two countries in Georgia's capital Tbilisi on June 4 last year, was also ratified and published in the gazette.

Ankara has also ratified a protocol on establishing a tripartite committee on customs issues with Azerbaijan and Georgia, which was signed in Izmir on Oct. 8, 2021.

The three nations will cooperate in all relevant fields within the established “Tripartite Committee on Customs Issues” and working groups.

A cooperation agreement between Turkiye and the Gambia in the field of education, inked in Ankara on Feb. 14, 2018, was also ratified.
