Turkey's daily power consumption down 9.4% on Oct. 24

Electricity exports amount to 14,696 megawatt-hours and imports total 14,375 megawatt-hours

ANKARA 

Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 9.43% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 753,712 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 35,775 megawatt-hours at 20.00 local time (1700 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 26,743 megawatt-hours at 08.00 local time (0500 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 754,693 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a 9.18% decrease compared to Saturday.

Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 35% of total electricity consumption and imported lignite plants contributed 15.6% while wind energy plants comprised 13.2%.

On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 14,696 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 14,375 megawatt-hours.
