ANKARA 

Fenerbahce Beko beat Bayern Munich 74-62 in the first matchday of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague 2022-23 season on Thursday.

Nigerian player Tonye Jekiri rallied the Istanbul club to victory with 15 points and six rebounds, while his teammate, Nick Calathes, played with 12 points, four rebound, and five assists at the Audi Dome in Munich.

Othello Hunter scored the most points on the German side, racking up 18 for his team.

Fenerbahce Beko leads the EuroLeague standings with point difference after Thursday's results.

Anadolu Efes will face Crvena Zvezda in a Matchday 1 game at the Sinan Erdem Sports Hall in Istanbul on Friday.
