ANKARA

A book authored by Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will be presented to world leaders at the UN General Assembly session starting from Sept. 21 in New York.

Translations of the book, titled A Fairer World Is Possible, will be given to world leaders.

Erdogan's book highlights major issues facing global politics, including injustice, refugee crises, terrorism, and Islamophobia, while also focusing on discrimination and double standards in the world.

The Turkish president draws attention to problems with the UN, such as shortcomings in terms of legitimacy, inclusiveness, efficiency, representation, and governance, reiterating that the global body needs comprehensive reforms.

Erdogan calls for fairer representation and the removal of the veto privilege currently limited to the five permanent members of the UN Security Council (UNSC) – the US, UK, France, Russia, and China.

The book provides solutions for the reorganization of the UNSC in such a way that it represents all continents, beliefs, origins, and cultures in the most equitable way possible.

Erdogan proposes that the number of permanent UNSC members should be raised to 20.

The book will be printed and distributed by Istanbul-based publishing house Turkuaz and translated into several languages, including English, Arabic, German, French, Russian, and Spanish.

Profits from its sale will go to Turkey's Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD).
