Türkiye's first lady Emine Erdogan on Thursday met her French counterpart and a senior UN official at the Turkevi Center in New York.
Erdogan exchanged views with French first lady Brigitte Macron on the environment, education, and health issues.
Macron thanked Erdogan for signing the Zero Waste initiative with the UN, which is a prominent step in fighting climate change.
Following the meeting, Erdogan, for her part, thanked Macron on Twitter by saying the two first ladies agreed that they will stand together in fighting climate change.
In a separate meeting, Erdogan met the Executive Director of the UN Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) Maimunah Mohd Sharif.
Sharif praised Erdogan's strong leadership on environment-related issues.
She added that opening a regional UN-Habitat office in Türkiye would be a useful initiative.
