Turkey-Qatar relations are 'quite valuable for regional peace,' Mustafa Sentop says

The Turkish parliament speaker received the deputy speaker of Qatar's Shura Council in the capital Ankara on Tuesday.

"I believe that Turkey-Qatar relations are quite valuable for regional peace and peace in the Gulf," Mustafa Sentop told Hamda bint Hassan al-Sulaiti during their meeting.

Sentop said Turkey-Qatar High Strategic Committee will hold its seventh meeting on Dec. 7.

"I believe that the meeting will be an occasion for concrete steps to be taken regarding our cooperation," he added.

Al-Sulaiti, for her part, said that the relations between the two countries have improved in recent years.

She also said that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will visit Doha on Dec. 7 "to hold some important meetings."
