Team USA beat Türkiye with 3-1 score in FIVB Women's World Championship

Turkish national team loses Group F clash with sets of 25-22, 21-25, 25-20, 25-22

ISTANBUL

Team USA tasted a 3-1 win over Türkiye Friday in Phase 2 of the FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship.

The US team won the game with 25-22, 21-25, 25-20, and 25-22 sets at Lodz's Atlas Arena.

The winning side's outside hitter Chiaka Ogbogu delivered a team-high 15 points while captain Kelsey Robinson scored 14 points.

Andrea Drews and Alexandra Frantti were their other double-digit scorers. Drews scored 13 points and Frantti got 12.

But Türkiye's Zehra Gunes and Ebrar Karakurt were the highest scorers of the game, racking up 16 points each in the Pool F clash.

With this result, Team USA are in the number two spot with 18 points while Türkiye are in third place with 17 points.

Türkiye, which already secured a spot in the quarterfinals, will face Serbia on Saturday in the last game of Group F.
