Rockstar confirms new GTA game footage leaked
No disruption to live game services or any long-term effect on ongoing projects due to network intrusion, Rockstar says
The US based video game giant Rockstar confirmed on Monday that an unauthorized third party leaked the next version of the popular game Grand Theft Auto's (GTA) footage.
Before Rockstar's statements, gameplay videos of GTA VI were shared on the internet.
Via its Twitter account, the game developer said: "We recently suffered a network intrusion in which an unauthorized third party illegally accessed and downloaded confidential information from our systems."
It added that early development footage for the game was also downloaded illegally.
It stressed that there will be no disruption to live game services or any long-term effect on the development of our ongoing projects.
Rockstar added that its work on the game will continue as planned.
