Florian Wirtz extends contract with Leverkusen
German midfielder signs until June 30, 2027
Bayer 04 Leverkusen announced Thursday that Florian Wirtz extended his contract with the club.
The 19-year-old German midfielder signed with the club until June 30, 2027.
“From my point of view, the development in the past two years was almost breathtaking and certainly not foreseeable in this form. It is clear to me that I also have the team to thank for this, with whom it is incredible fun,” said Wirtz. “The guys are a key reason why I feel comfortable here and that it went so well overall. There is a lot in us and in this club. We want to show that to all Bayer 04 fans. And those who aren't."
"Florian knows that we will continue to be competitive in Leverkusen in the coming years and that we will attack at the national and international level," said Sports director Rudi Voller. "And he will be an important part of it."
Wirtz, who joined to Leverkusen U19 team in 2020, scored 22 goals and had 19 assists in 78 games for the German Bundesliga club.
