Asian stock markets close mostly with gains
Excluding Shanghai, Asian markets close day with increases

ISTANBUL
Asian stocks ended in the positive territory on Monday, except for the Shanghai index in China, where strong COVID-19 measures continue.
The Asia Dow, which includes blue-chip companies in the region, earned 1.82 points, or 0.06%, to close at around 3,275 points.
Tokyo's Nikkei 225 stock exchange was up 119.4 points, or 0.45%, to 26,547 points.
The Hang Seng, the benchmark for blue-chip stocks trading on the Hong Kong stock exchange, increased 51.44 points, or 0.26%, to 19,950 points.
China's Shanghai Stock Exchange dropped 10.54 points, or 0.34%, to close at 3,073 points.
The Indian Sensex benchmark was up 180.22 points, or 0.34%, to end the day at 52,973 points.
The Singapore index rose 25.98 points, or 0.82%, to close at 3,191 points.
