Asian markets close Monday in positive territory

All Asian markets close up except for Hang Seng index

ISTANBUL

After closing last week in red, Asian markets ended Monday with gains except for the Hang Seng index.

The Asia Dow, which includes blue-chip companies in the region, earned 67.47 points, or 0.03%, to close at around 3,870.86 points.

Tokyo's Nikkei 225 stock exchange was up 209.24 points, or 0.74%, to 28,333, and China's Shanghai stock exchange rose 20.41 points, or 0.58%, to 3,541 points.


The Indian Sensex benchmark posted an increase of 85.88 points, or 0.14%, to close at 61,308 points, and the Singapore index also earned 5.98 points, or 0.18%, to reach 3,287.



Meanwhile, the Hang Seng, the benchmark for blue-chip stocks trading on the Hong Kong stock exchange, lost 165.29 points, or 0.68%, to reach 24,218.


European markets

All major European indices were in the positive territory as of the midday.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, was up by 2.50 points, or 0.52%, to reach 483.66 points as of 1030GMT.

London's FTSE 100 increased by 43.18 points, or 0.57%, to stand at 7,586 points, and Germany's DAX index reached 15,936 points, up by 53.37 points or 0.34%.

The French CAC 40 earned 39.22 points, or 0.55%, to reach 7,182 points, while Italy's FTSE MIB posted an increase of 642 points, or 0.23%, to stand at 27,608 points.

Spain's IBEX 35 also rose by 45.3 points, or 0.51%, to 8,851 points.
