English championship side Hull City announced Sunday that "two people" from the club had contracted the novel coronavirus.

'Hull City can confirm that two people have tested Positive for COVID-19 following the first round of testing at the training Ground D,' the club said.

It was unclear if the people referred to were players in the football club, administration, or staffers.

'Medical confidentiality means the names will not be disclosed, and the Club asks for this to be respected," it added.

"The duo, who are both asymptomatic and feeling no ill effects, will now self-isolate for seven days – in line with the protocols set out in EFL guidelines – before being tested again at a later date," it said, referring to the English Football League.

With over 260,000 cases to date, the UK death toll from COVID-19 rose by 118 to 36,793 on Sunday, according to official figures.
