Turkish deputy premier decorated with honorary title in BiH

Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc reiterated Turkey’s support to Bosnia and Herzegovina in their NATO and EU membership bids, saying the two countries have a special bond due to historical ties.
Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc was decorated by an honorary doctorate degree by Bosnia and Herzegovina's Zenica University.

In his speech during the decoration ceremony at Zenica’s Bosnian National Theatre, Arinc said he was honored to have been awarded with the title.

Arinc reiterated Turkey’s support to Bosnia and Herzegovina in their NATO and EU membership bids, saying the two countries have a special bond due to historical ties.

"I am watching in appreciation the economic and social developments in Bosnia-Herzegovina following the pains it suffered in the near past [...] The tri-partied processes initiated between Turkey, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and between Turkey, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia, with the friendly initiatives from Turkey continued toward the spirit of cohabitation and building the future together," Bulent Arinc added.

Deputy Prime Minister Arinc also congratulated the Bosnia and Herzegovina’s football team for their qualification for the world cup to be organized in Brazil next year.

Zenica University Rector Javad Zecic, who also spoke at the ceremony, said the first honorary doctorate by his university was presented to Arinc and it is a fruit of good cooperation with Turkey.

Arinc will visit historic city of Mostar on Friday on his second day of Bosnia and Herzegovina visit.(AA)
